Closed off strongly first-up at Sandown over 1200m, then charged home late into second at Flemington over 1400m.

Third-up today and gets to 1600m, which looks ideal.

Progressive mare in form who draws well and appears perfectly placed to break through. Hard to beat.

RACE 6: 12. Escarpa (9)

Trainer:G.Eurell - Jockey:B.Mertens - Weight: 59kg

Closed off well two back at Pakenham before holding ground behind a smart winner at Mornington in a stronger race.

Down in grade here and looks suited with the extra 100m.

Poor draw hurts, but if she gets cover, can figure late. Keep safe.

Racing consistently this prep, placing in all three runs. Had excuses at Mornington and was just nosed out at Sale last time.

Blinkers come off, which could sharpen her finish.

Down in weight with the claim, maps well, and deserves strong each-way consideration.

Returned with a strong win first-up, showing grit despite laying in.

Drawn barrier 1, he maps for the run of the race and will take improvement from that return.

Consistent this prep (never missed a placing) and back to Flemington suits. In the mix again despite rise in class.

WARWICK FARM

Hasn't been far away in Group 3 company, sticking on gamely over 2000m last start in the Packer Plate.

Now drops in grade and back in trip to something more suitable.

Brings the right form lines and has tactical speed to feature early. Just wins.

RACE 6: 13. Monfelicity (NZ) (10)

Trainer:D.L.Payne - Jockey:A.Roper - Weight: 55.5kg

Coming off a flat effort at Randwick-Kensington over 1400m where she never threatened, and the prior run at Hawkesbury over 1800m was similarly lacklustre.

Hasn't won in over 70 weeks and looks to be struggling to find her best.

Market reflects that drift from $27 to $31 but she could surprise at her best…

RACE 7: 6. My Last Hooray (9)

Trainer:F.S.Cleary - Jockey:W.Stanley - Weight: 58kg

Back-to-back solid runs at Canberra in Open BM84 grade, including a fast-finishing 2nd last start behind Demanding Mo.

Drops to a winnable class, and the 3kg claim from W.A. Stanley puts him right in this with 52kg effectively.

Wide draw no issue given his racing pattern and genuine tempo expected.

RACE 8: 4. Hellbent On You (7)

Trainer:J.P.Thompson - Jockey:B.Nock - Weight: 60.5kg

She’s absolutely flying this prep.

Stormed home from last two back at Randwick-Kensington, then rattled late again when beaten a nose by Candlewick here on April 16.

Handles tempo shifts, hard fit now, and draws soft again.
